Edward K. Avila
I am a neurologist with specialty training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. I treat patients with seizures secondary to brain tumors and patients with neurological complications of systemic cancer. As an epileptologist, I provide continuity of care for patients with seizures in conjunction with neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, and radiation oncology. In addition to other clinical responsibilities, I head the electroencephalography (EEG) service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. I also perform intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring for the prevention of neural injury during brain and spine surgery.
